Project Highlights
The goal of this tremendous North Vancouver kitchen renovation was to create an entertainer’s impact kitchen with improved functionality, increased counterspace and work surface options, additional storage alternatives and an overall better layout and flow. While the original kitchen design was retained, the island was increased in size. New off-white raised panel kitchen cabinets were incorporated to instantly transform and lighten the once dark space in this dream kitchen renovation. All doors and drawers were equipped with Blum soft-closing hardware.
The new North Vancouver kitchen was fitted with Electrolux appliances including a 36″ refrigerator/freezer, a 30″ counter-mounted gas cooktop with overhead extractor hood, a double 30″ wall oven and a 24″ wine cooler. In addition, a Sharp 24″ microwave drawer was installed in the island eliminating bending to access a conventional microwave. Where possible, full extension drawers were chosen over conventional hinged doors for easy access and to maximize storage and functionality. Two 24″ wide x 24″ deep full height pantry cabinets were installed flanking the refrigerator, one of which featured a dedicated drawer with a 110V power source and USB ports to store and charge electronics and also a drawer to house a coffee machine and toaster complete with 110V power receptacle.
Crema-marfil inspired quartz counters were selected for their stain resistant and low maintenance properties, while a porcelain herringbone backsplash was incorporated rather than marble for its low fuss and durability. The cabinet hardware, sink faucet and pot filler were in a brushed brass finish to rival the 42 lamp Jonathan Adler ceiling mounted fixture that reigns over the now generous island. Undercabinet linear remote controlled LED lighting was flush mounted along the full length of the upper cabinets. All in all, this kitchen renovation boasts fancy and function from corner to corner – a sure marvel!
