Do you have any questions?

Below is a list of some commonly asked questions. Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be pleased to consult on your next project.

What can renovateme! do for me & what separates you from other design/build companies?

We are a North Shore-based, family-owned and operated renovation company specializing in full home renovations, kitchen and bathroom renovations, interior styling and decorating. We proudly offer a fully integrated renovation service from design to completion.

Our team’s seamless approach to projects is directed by our goal of growing renovateme! responsibly, keeping it family-owned and operated, local and centered in the community in which we live, and always accountable.  You are able to meet and work with the same people throughout the renovation process; there’s no revolving door of trades coming in and out of your home. Furthermore, by work’s end, a relationship is built, so much so, that we are confident that we will collaborate again in the future on your next home renovation.

With a genuine love of all things design and construction, our team is large enough to tackle any project and small enough to mind even the tiniest of details.

Let our creativity, expertise, quality craftsmanship, established vendor relationships and team of licensed electricians, plumbers, drywallers, flooring installers and painters help turn your vision into a home renovation reality.

What measures will you take to protect the environment during my renovation?

We care about the environment. All construction debris is carefully sorted into distinctive groups and recycled accordingly with the absolute minimum amount of material going to the landfill.
We separate and recycle unpainted/untreated lumber, metal, drywall, glass, plastics, cardboard and electrical components.
Whenever possible, gently used fixtures, fittings and materials in good condition are donated.

Does my renovation require a permit?

Not all renovations require a permit. Whether a permit is required is a determination made on a case-to-case basis. Ordinarily when fixtures or fittings are simply removed and replaced with new ones, a permit is not normally necessary. If, however, your project does need permits to be pulled, we will apply and obtain these on your behalf.

We can undertake to do all of the design work needed to successfully complete your project from producing drawings to obtaining permits.

Are your estimates complimentary?

Yes, our estimates are complimentary. On receiving an enquiry for our services, we arrange a meeting at your home. At this time we discuss your renovation, your specific wish list and other pertinent issues such as budget and timeline. We then provide you with a free detailed estimate with a complete scope of work.

Will you keep within my budget and time frame?

Our team is pleased to work with any budget and time frame. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or to arrange a consultation to discuss your home improvement needs, allocated budget and scheduling requirements.

Do you source my materials?

Every aspect of your project is selected for your renovation based on our design plan and your specified preferences. This eliminates the need for you to travel to separate showrooms deciding between the plethora of finishing materials available. Options are brought to your home for discussion and final approval. This makes the renovation process much less overwhelming. In a sense it is like a budget friendly one-stop shopping experience, and the best part is you never have to leave the comfort of your home. We design, source and execute the entire project on your behalf. In addition, we introduce, coordinate and manage all sub trades.

Do I have to move out of my home during renovations?

The short answer is yes and no. For a complete house or condo renovation it is advisable to find alternative accommodation during construction. This will alleviate unnecessary stress on your family and also help accelerate the pace of your renovation. For smaller, targeted or room specific renovations, work can be undertaken without a complete move-out. In these cases we isolate the construction areas and protect all approach flooring, furniture and household items.  Affected areas are left as clean, debris- and hazard-free at day’s end as possible. Homeowner’s are given any necessary instructions/recommendations until work commences again the next day.

Is renovateme! licensed and insured?

renovateme! carries complete liability insurance, is covered by WCB and has all necessary current business licenses. When needed, we call on our sub trades to assist on site, all of whom are licensed and insured. In addition, renovateme! is a proud member of the Homebuilders Association of Vancouver (HAVAN) and RenoMark and is Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited.

Do you provide a warranty on your workmanship?
