Consider your locale, pay homage to it
In our “little beach house,” we incorporated subtle tributes to its ocean-front location – try a long vase of assorted sea sponges, decorative faux coral ornaments to display product, a sand bucket and beach spade-inspired set to hold bath & body products, or an excellent quality bird motif/nature wall covering to bring the “outdoors in.”
Do not be afraid to accessorize
As the iconic Iris Apfel has said, “more is more and less is a bore.” After all, what is wrong with a great (and of course, perfectly coordinated) accessory, something that makes you smile a little each and every time you see it? Here, we included items of a limited colour story keeping to those in soft lavender and lavish gold. To treat the senses, try an arrangement of fresh flowers, a quirky mason jar soap pump, a scented candle or a vintage-inspired powder puff.
Consider elements and materials to include thoughtfully
In a small bathroom, carefully deliberate on the items you include on your wishlist. Try fuss-free and easy to maintain quartz, a compact yet fully functional cabinet, a one piece dual-flush elongated closed trap toilet with soft-closing seat, and a frameless mirror-on-mirror vanity mirror. Splurge on a walk-in shower with a floor to ceiling custom glass partition, corner mounted quartz-topped shower seat and 24” x 30” tiled product niche – large enough to have visual impact and to house all of your product! Simple yet timeless finishes and materials will add classic charm and longevity to any design plan.
Convert a bathtub to a walk-in shower
Walk-in showers are fuss-free, simple to clean and maintain, spacious and easily accessible. With their low curb or curbless designs, tempered glass enclosures, product niches for display and convenience, seats, safety bars and tiled (or budget friendly, acrylic) shower bases, walk-in showers can offer practicality, durability and increased accessibility to any bathroom renovation.
