As a part of a full home renovation, this fantastic living room makeover boasts tons of storage options, new lighting and a fresh aesthetic.
The client requested rows and rows of storage to house his impressive book collection. Consequently, custom display and book storage was installed along the room’s south wall. The east wall was treated to closed & open storage and media cabinets complete with space for a flat screen television. These upgrades offer ample custom storage and provide a focal point for this newly renovated living room.
To remedy the condo’s lack of overhead lighting, a 24” deep bulkhead was constructed along the perimeter of the room. This bulkhead houses 4” dimmable LED recessed fixtures. Square profile ceiling moulding completes the living room makeover.
A ½” Swiss-made AC5 laminate in a “washed” finish is floated over SolidSound noise suppression membrane. This “distressed” selection is a wonderful tribute to the oceanfront locale of this home renovation. It comes with the added benefits of being commercial grade, scratch and fade resistant – a perfect inclusion in the southwest facing condo. To complement the sandy pebble coloured flooring offering, a “beachy” blue-grey paint is chosen to grace the living room’s walls. Blues and beiges, a welcome colour story for any renovation, even those not lucky enough to be oceanfront!
