Project Highlights
As a part of a complete home renovation, this second bedroom was treated to a makeover of fresh aesthetics and finishes. Now ready to welcome guests or be a flex/hobby room, a den or home office, this transformation features a muted colour palette and updated features.
To free up some additional room in this space, a wall-mounted double Murphy bed was removed. An old window mounted air conditioner was removed and a new dual glass pane was installed.
An existing single hinged door was framed and boarded to eliminate multiple entrances to the renovated space. This creates the opportunity for additional storage options in that corner. The main double pocket door access was retained and updated with wood framed obscure glass pocket doors. Excellent for privacy, but still allowing the flow of light into a newly designed room, obscure glass doors are a wonderful alternative to traditional doors.
The makeover continues with the installation of commercial quality AC5 Swiss-made laminate floated over SolidSound noise suppression membrane. In a “distressed” finish, this flooring selection offers a fresh and timeless aesthetic while being scratch and fade resistant. Kid and pet friendly, this laminate is a durable and cost effective alternative to hardwood. It can be floated over any concrete or wood substructure making it a versatile flooring option for many home renovation projects. The installation of new baseboards completes the flooring makeover.
The room’s feature wall boasts a muted and classic chevron patterned wallpaper while a soft grey paint graces its remaining walls. Rich in beautiful texture and interest, this second bedroom makeover showcases timeless and fresh updates and finishes. A true joy!
