An amazing bathroom renovation featuring an updated aesthetic and modern finishes with an impressive vanity area and bathtub/shower combination.

Project Highlights

This bathroom renovation saw the fantastic transformation of an original 1950s bathroom by replacing all fixtures and fittings. Grounding greys, calming whites, statuesque black and rich brushed golds combine to create a bathroom oasis for the ages!

Its muted grey wood bathroom vanity featuring soft-closing drawers & doors and engineered marble top creates a beautiful and practical vanity area in this compact bathroom.  To complete this bathroom design, a decorative mirror and above vanity light fitting are included.  The existing layout was retained in this bathroom renovation.  Consequently, cabinet space was limited.  As a result, a two drawer/double door unit with ample storage and an undermount porcelain sink was incorporated.  This sink choice allows for easy cleaning as well as the best chance for extra counter space.  In addition, a mirror on mirror vanity mirror gives the compact bathroom the feel of limitless square footage.

As the only bathroom in the home, it was imperative that this bathroom remodel was able to provide the most amenities possible in the space available.  Consequently, a faux marble porcelain clad combination bathtub/shower was selected.  Large format tile with tight grout joints in a bright white was chosen to create the appearance of abundant space and light.  The newly renovated tub/shower area was treated to polished engineered marble product shelves and a double diverter valve to operate the tub filler and rain showerhead.

Being a 1950s rancher built on a concrete slab with below floor level heating ducts, many of the wood studs and bottom plate were found to have signs of water damage and rot.  These were replaced accordingly.  The exterior wall was found to have inadequate insulation, sagging within the studs, and deteriorated vapour barrier.  The insulation was replaced with Rockwool ComfortBatt and 6mil poly vapour barrier.

From its three tone hexagonal porcelain floor tile to its silver grey walls, this bathroom renovation is packed with timeless charm and practicality!
